We have some friends who are trying to sell a house for a friend of theirs that passed away some time ago. They asked for some help in getting the place "spruced up" a bit in exchange for donating some of the money from the sale towards the purchase of a much needed tractor for us at Feed Fannin. Poor Wayne built this cute little island for our pond so that the frogs and birds would have a safe place to hang out. We haven't seen anyone use it except for one bullfrog last year. I got this new yummy MCN (80/10/10 merino/cashmere/nylon) DK weight yarn and decided to see what this would look like knit up in a sock. I like it! My husband couldn't resist this $20 find at the thrift store:Fun! We wasted no time in trying it out.Our first batch was too wet and all the noodles ended up sticking together. For those of you who are not familiar with Emory, we have a rather unusual mascot. Our mascot is a skeleton named Dooley! Personally, I love that our school mascot is a skeleton! He represents the spirit of Emory. Each year, no one knows who Dooley is except for his pallbearers, who accompany him everywhere. We have had an insane amount of hummingbirds at our house over the past couple of weeks. At any given time there must be about 30 of them buzzing around on our porch!
